Episode 04 - Identity Crisis

This episode of our Faith Unraveled deconstruction series focuses on the process of reclaiming personal identity after divorcing faith, specifically addressing our faith crisis within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but these concepts extend into faith deconstruction from many denominations and we welcome all! 

 

We discuss how our church teachings play a huge role in shaping our identity, societal role, sexual understanding, and personal agency. We dive into how the process of deconstruction often results in an identity crisis, leading to feelings of grief, anxiety, and loss. We discuss the importance of reconnecting with personal intuition and desire, as well as the role of various tools such as sensory awareness, meditation, vulnerability, and therapy in the rebuilding process. Also some of our favorite topics: the importance of establishing personal boundaries, exploring personal interests, and allowing room for individual healing and growth during this process.
